Want More Sales? Fix Your TQ!

You may be familiar with IQ [Intelligence Quotient] and EQ [Emotional Quotient].

There is no doubt that being smart and having empathy for others helps agency owners [and entrepreneurs more generally] to close more deals.

After all who wants to do business with an uncaring idiot, right?

However, whilst IQ and EQ are important areas to work on for budding entrepreneurs, it is equally if not more important to work on your TQ.

What’s TQ you ask?

I define it as your Trust Quotient or in other words how trustworthy you are perceived to be.

Now I do not want to get into the whole psychology or science of building trust with your audience from an academic point of view.

I want to give you advice that you can action today and potentially see results with, today!

As an Expert, Consultant or Agency Owner there are a couple of ways that you can build your TQ quickly:

#1 – Create content

There is no better way to establish yourself as an authority in your field than publishing content.

People hear of this and often get frightened by the idea of producing content.

They know that they can deliver results for their clients but do not quite want to put themselves out there in such a public way.

Now depending on your style, producing content does not need to be a chore.

If you enjoy writing, you can produce blogs, articles and guest posts to get your ideas in front of your target audience.

If you hate writing but are good at improvising, you can start recording short videoclips on your phone, using nothing more than the camera app on selfie-mode.

#2 – Get highlighted by your industry peers

What is better than you calling yourself an expert?

It is someone else introducing you as an expert to their audience.

This could be on their Podcast, Facebook Group, Membership Site or something of a similar nature.

The easiest way to build credibility is to leverage off the credibility of others, who already have herded the audience you wish to reach.

So start connecting with influencers in your space and start giving them some value first, before trying to leverage their audience.

#3 – Show your RESULTS

Now people are often comfortable accepting you as an expert in your field.

However, at the same time they are not sure if you can deliver the results they specifically want.

Now if you have been in business for longer than a few weeks, you probably have people that you have served well and can lean on for a testimonial.

A testimonial does not need to be about how much revenue someone has made due to you. It can be someone being your cheerleader in terms of what difference you have made for them.

So there you have it! Three tactics to get you started building your TQ.
